November Weather Recap: We Finally Catch a Break!

- Dec 1, 2009

After suffering through several cooler than normal months, including a disappointingly cool summer, November proved to be pleasantly unseasonable for a change. The average daily temperature for the month was about 10 degrees warmer than both of the previous two Novembers. Even the snow stayed away for most of the month. With any amount of luck, this warmer than normal trend will hold out for the rest of the winter. However, as anyone who has lived in Northeast Ohio knows, this is likely little more than wishful thinking.

The average daily temperature for the month of November was 46.8°F. According to the National Weather Service* the average daily temperature for the month of November in Cleveland was 47.7°F and broke the previous record for the 6th warmest. Akron/Canton had an average temperature of 45.8°F, breaking a record for the 7th warmest November. At 46.8°F, Cuyahoga falls, which sits geographically between the two, also fell climatologically between.
